The cap is lined with deep green silk/rayon and shows a full-celluloid diamond bearing the maker name and trademark which has faded but is mostly legible and appears to read MAX PFEIBEN. The leather sweatband is in excellent condition and is regimental ink stamped on the underside:

This marking represents the 14th infantry Regiment which was based in Nuremberg. The cap is ink stamped size 56.
